RARE Red Chinese Writing Australian Black Opal

This is an impressively rare chinese-writing patterned black opal, and an example of dazzling rolling colours across the surface of the stone. You don’t see them like this very often because they get bought almost immediately because of the international demand for these gems, which is very-limited in availability. NOTE: There is a slight fissure in the surface of the gem which is stable and shallow, measuring less than 1mm long with a very tinny width, making it difficult to notice with the naked eye. It’s only this slight surface-pit which allows the price to be so attractive, because without the cleft this opal would sell for much more. How much more? Unknown. Regardless, it’s a beautiful opal which will make a fantastic item of jewellery. Truly a prized possession – for someone soon.
